Paal payasa

Paal payasam is a traditional South Indian dessert made on every occassion to rejoice. With its simple recipe and amazing taste that lasts long on our taste buds, it is a quick hit in every home.

Ingredients:
1 cup - cooked rice
1/2 cup - condensed milk (optional)
3/4 lt - milk
1/2 cup - sugar
4 tb.sp - MTR badam mix
1/4 cup - finely chopped roasted cashew, pista, almonds

Method:
In a cooking vessel, add the cooked rice and half a cup of milk and allow the rice to get further cooked in the milk. Leave it in simmer for 10-12 mins with occasional stirring. When the milk has reduced to half the quantity, add some more milk and stir it again and allow it on simmer for the next 5 mins. Now add the condensed milk and let it cook for another 5 mins. In case you dont add milk maid, you can add more milk and allow the rice and milk mixture to become thick like condensed milk. At this point, add sugar and mix well. For the nice flavor and color, add MTR badam mix powder and stir well. Turn off the stove. Paal payasam is ready now. Serve it by garnishing it with the finely chopped nuts.

Cooking time: 20 mins (approx.)
